General Rules


1. Account Requirements

  • Users must be 16 years or older to use BidPickup
  • Users must be 18 years or older to create auction listings
  • All account information must be accurate and up-to-date
  • One account per person; multiple accounts are not permitted

    • 2. Auction Listings

  • All listings must be for legal items only
  • Items must be accurately described with clear photos
  • Sellers must honor the final bid price
  • Auction duration is 24 hours from creation
  • Local pickup only - no shipping
  • Sellers must provide accurate postal code for location

    • 3. Bidding Rules

  • All bids are binding commitments to purchase
  • Users must be prepared to complete the purchase if they win
  • Bid retractions are not allowed except in exceptional circumstances
  • Minimum bid increment: $1.00
  • Bidders must be within reasonable distance of pickup location

    • 4. Prohibited Items

    The following items are strictly prohibited from being listed:

  • Illegal items or services
  • Weapons, firearms, or ammunition
  • Drugs, drug paraphernalia, or prescription medications
  • Stolen goods
  • Counterfeit or replica items marketed as authentic
  • Adult content or services
  • Living animals
  • Items that violate intellectual property rights
  • Hazardous materials

    • 5. User Conduct

  • Be respectful and professional in all communications
  • No harassment, threats, or abusive language
  • No spam or unsolicited advertising
  • No manipulation of bidding (shill bidding)
  • Report any suspicious activity to administrators
  • Users found violating rules may be suspended or banned

    • 6. Transaction Guidelines

  • Winner must contact seller within 24 hours of auction end
  • Pickup must be arranged within 48 hours of auction end
  • Payments must be made in person at time of pickup
  • Inspect items before completing payment
  • Report any issues immediately to administrators

    • 7. Safety Guidelines

  • Meet in public, well-lit locations when possible
  • Bring a friend if meeting in private locations
  • Trust your instincts - if something feels wrong, report it
  • Never share personal financial information
  • Verify item condition before payment
  • Use secure payment methods

    • 8. Dispute Resolution

  • Contact the other party first to resolve issues
  • If unresolved, submit a report to administrators
  • Provide evidence (messages, photos, etc.)
  • Administrators will review and mediate disputes
  • Decisions by administrators are final
  • Repeated violations may result in account suspension

    • 9. Privacy and Data

  • We respect user privacy and protect personal information
  • Location data is used only for auction matching
  • We never sell user data to third parties
  • Users control their profile visibility

    • 10. Platform Responsibilities

  • BidPickup facilitates connections between buyers and sellers
  • We are not responsible for the quality or legality of items
  • We are not party to transactions between users
  • Users assume all risks in their transactions
  • We reserve the right to remove listings that violate policies
  • We may suspend or ban users who violate terms

    Moderation Policy

    Our moderation team reviews reported content and user behavior. Actions taken may include:

  • Warning messages
  • Listing removal
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account ban

    • Refund Policy

  • All sales are final between buyer and seller
  • BidPickup does not process payments or issue refunds
  • Disputes must be resolved between transaction parties
  • Report fraud or serious issues to administrators

    • Fee Structure

  • Creating listings: Free
  • Successful auctions: Free
  • No hidden fees or commissions

    • Age Verification

  • Users must verify age before creating listings
  • Age verification protects both buyers and sellers
  • False age information will result in account suspension

    • Updates to Rules

  • Rules and policies may be updated periodically
  • Users will be notified of significant changes
  • Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated rules
